Hello, my name is Susan and I live in Edinburgh, the beautiful (but often cold!) capital city of Scotland. Originally, I’m from Aberdeen in the northeast of Scotland. I’ve been teaching for over 12 years and feel very lucky to do a job I love and which allows me to meet interesting people from all over the world. I’ve worked in language schools in Paris and Edinburgh and whatever problem you have learning English, then I promise I have seen it before and can help you fix it. I’m highly qualified holding a Diploma and also a Business English teaching certificate. I speak French and some Spanish.

Do you need to prepare for the IELTS exam? Well I can definitely help you. I have many years of experience of teaching IELTS preparation and have completed several IELTS teacher training workshops. Any problem or worry you have with this exam, I guarantee we can sort it together. In addition, I can help you prepare for Cambridge FCE or CAE as well as TOEIC and TOEFL exams. If it’s help with Business English you need, then look no further. I have helped employees such as the CEO in a major international bank to doctors and nurses in a Paris hospital with their English language needs. I also teach general English at all levels to help with your everyday English requirements. I will listen carefully to your needs, aims and interests and between us we will work out a plan for your classes. Every lesson is designed to suit you and as well as passing your exam or whatever else you need, I want you to enjoy the lessons and have fun.

When I’m not teaching my main love is spending time with my family. I have 4 grown up children, 3 of whom live and work in London so I have a good excuse to go there regularly. I love travelling in general and discovering different cultures. My main hobby is yoga and Pilates and I’m currently training to be a Yin yoga teacher. I also love spending time in the kitchen and I make excellent chocolate brownies, or so my family tell me…. Hope to meet you soon!
