Hello! My name’s Rich, and I’m from the North of England. In 2009, after one of the coldest winters on record in my country, I left my career in I.T, trained as an English teacher, and moved to Spain. I knew that I would like the weather, I didn’t realise how much I would love the job.
Since then, I’ve had a wide range of experiences teaching classes in many different countries. It’s difficult to say what kind of class is my favourite. I’ve had great times teaching academic professors in Spain, children in Vietnam, university students in Japan, and teenagers from all over the world at summer schools in England.
My lessons are customised to requirements, and prioritise student engagement. In addition, over a course of lessons, I aim to ensure that we can demonstrate a measureable progression in language ability.
My teaching qualifications include the CELTA, DipTESOL and TYLEC. For the TYLEC itself, I am an accredited teacher trainer. With regards to language examinations, I have several years’ experience administering oral examinations for Cambridge English (PET, FCE, CAE, and CPE), and producing official examinations for CertACLES.
I spend the vast majority of my leisure time playing video games and watching YouTube videos. I also enjoy cycling, reading, fine dining, discussing philosophy, and watching science fiction movies.
